A banana truck with some extras

Duh.

Our last day, in Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant herds. But first, we see a dik-dik (the little antelope killed by the leopard)

A vervet monkey observes our car passing by

Finally we see the elephants! Our first herd came walking directly toward our car...

And proceeded to take mud baths right in front of us

This one was having a lot of fun in the mud

See how close they were?

Love the ear flare

This park was beautiful as well -- with the exception of the tsetse flies!

Blinking... or napping on his feet?

My perfect shot... I thought, wouldn't that pond and palm trees be perfect if some elephants walked by them... and then it happened :)

Elephants on the move

They are all coated brown with mud (it helps prevent sunburn)

An adorable little one

Off they go...

A baboon youngster getting a piggy-back ride

White storks were all over this park

Gorgeous!

At Tarangire Lodge, contemplating using the pool... but the stagnant, cold water, dead bugs, sudden clouds, and tsetse flies deterred us

Leah is determined to have fun!

Reading in our tent (with an even better bathroom than Ngome -- tiled floors, hot water showers... wow!) with a beautiful view of the Tarangire park below

Oh Serengeti, you never disappoint...
